Triangle Space, Chelsea College of Art and Design
21st May – 30th May, 2012
Prospectus was a collaborative project realised by MA Curating, MA Interior Spatial Design and PhD students and artist and professor Neil Cummings. The project began as Exhibition Experiments, a working project title for a brief that evolved through a process of collaborative working and research into an exhibition, public programme and publication, that charted the development of art school education and the birth of the public museum.
Focusing on radical forms of art education, Prospectus presented the culmination of research exploring the function of exhibitions as an educational tool, the history of Chelsea College of Art and Design, and specific, radical, international art schools.
The exhibition presented these ideas through the display of archival objects, contemporary artworks and a structure built in collaboration with MA Interior Spatial Design, as well as a programme of events and workshops. The exhibition was accompanied by a publication by Camberwell Press.
